Singapore networks all three are good
Singtel, StarHub and M1 all run dense 5G across an island 50km wide. Simba, the newest, is cheap and thinner on coverage. There is no meaningful coverage argument here: no mountains, no ferries to small islands, no rural gap. Pick on price.

Almost nobody flies to Singapore alone. The common routes add Kuala Lumpur by bus or train, Bali by a two-hour flight, or Bangkok on the way through.

Do I need an eSIM in Singapore at all?
For a one-day stopover inside Changi, no: the airport wifi is fast and free. For anything where you leave the terminal, yes, because Grab, the MRT apps and maps all want a live connection between wifi zones. A $2.90 1GB plan covers a stopover.
How much data do I need for a week in Singapore?
About 3GB. Wifi is available in almost every indoor space, so mobile data mostly covers navigation and ride-hailing between them. Buy 3GB, top up if you are wrong, and keep the $8 the 10GB plan would have cost.
Will my eSIM work on the MRT and in the malls?
Yes. Singapore's underground stations and tunnels have full mobile coverage on all three networks, and it hands over cleanly between stations. This is not a country where you plan around dead spots.
Can I use one eSIM for Singapore and Malaysia?
Yes, with a regional plan. Every regional Asia eSIM covers both, so the Johor causeway costs you nothing. A single-country plan stops at the border and you would need a second one for Malaysia.
