GigSky in Asia: the value pick, twice
The widest price spread of any provider we track. In Japan and Thailand it is the cheapest sensible plan on the market. In Nepal it wants $149.99 for 10GB.
The verdict a wholesale business with wholesale pricing
GigSky prices each country from its own carrier deals and does not smooth the result. That gives you genuine bargains where its wholesale rate is good and absurdities where it is not.
Thailand at $9.79 for 10GB is the cheapest linkable plan in that country. Nepal at $149.99 for the same 10GB is more than fifteen times as much, and it is the same brand, the same app and the same week.
Nobody else in this comparison has a spread like that, and no honest review of GigSky can end with a single verdict. Buy it in four countries, avoid it in six, and read the row before you tap.

The 50GB plan at $1.16 per gigabyte is the cheapest regional data in Asia that we can verify from any provider, linkable or not. The 20GB and 50GB plans also carry 60 and 90-day validity, which no other regional plan matches.
Unlimited is sold separately with a published 3.5GB per day cap, from $11.49 for three days. That is the second-largest published cap in Asia after Saily's 5GB, and it costs less per day.

You want a single brand you can buy in every country without checking the price first. That is Airalo, at a premium.

Is GigSky good for Asia?
In four of the 14 countries here, yes, and its regional plan is the cheapest we can verify at $22.99 for 10GB. In Nepal, the Philippines, Cambodia, Singapore, Taiwan and Hong Kong its pricing is far above the market. GigSky is a good provider with a pricing model that has to be checked country by country.
Does GigSky have a free trial?
Yes, 100MB, and it is the only free trial in this comparison. It is enough to prove that the eSIM installs, attaches to a network and passes traffic, which is exactly what you want to know before you are standing in an arrivals hall.
Is GigSky unlimited really unlimited?
No. It caps at 3.5GB a day and then reduces your speed until the next day. That is the second-largest published cap in Asia and it costs less per day than Saily's 5GB. Full cap comparison here.
Which networks does GigSky use in Asia?
It publishes them per country, which many providers do not. NTT Docomo and SoftBank in Japan, AIS and dtac in Thailand, Telkomsel and Indosat in Indonesia, Maxis in Malaysia, China Unicom in China. The full list is in the country table above.
Why is GigSky so expensive in some countries?
Because it prices from its own wholesale carrier agreements per country and does not average them out. Where its deal is good, you get Thai domestic pricing. Where it is not, you get $149.99 for 10GB in Nepal. It is not a scam, it is a pricing model that punishes buying without checking.
Does the GigSky Asia Pacific plan cover the Philippines?
No, and this is the single most important thing to know about it. Every other regional plan here does. GigSky's also leaves out Nepal and the Maldives, though most of the others do too. If your route includes the Philippines, buy Airalo Asialink or Saily Asia & Oceania instead.
